Speaking to Men About Religious Freedom & Leading Courageously is Coach Joe Kennedy
28 February 2023
The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Joe Kennedy and his First Amendment right to say prayers of thanks at the conclusion of football games he coached for Bremerton High School in 2022, and Kennedy, an 18-year Marine veteran, will be the keynote speaker at the Resolve Men’s Conference on March 10 and 11 at The House Ministry Center in Snohomish, Washington.
Coach Joe will lecture on the subjects of Leading Courageously and Religious Freedom.
Steven Souza Jr., a former MLB player, Coach Mike Connaway, Daniel Ritchie, DJ Rabe, and Nazareth, one of the country’s top motivational comedians, are among the more speakers.
The BHS varsity football team had Coach Kennedy as an assistant coach. The former Marine turned football coach made a promise to God that he would give thanks to God at the end of each game for what the players had accomplished and for the opportunity to be a part of their lives through football before even coaching his first game. His school district disapproved of this, which led to a lengthy legal battle. The Supreme Court upheld Coach Kennedy’s First Amendment right on June 27, 2022. He anticipates his reinstatement and return to the field. A movie about his life is in the works. He continues to speak all over the nation in support of free speech.
